So how cool is this. My kids SAT tutor contacted me today and because we are friend on Facebook he's been watching my art. He came over today and bought two french paintings for his wife for Christmas! They went on a trip there last summer. I do hope she likes them:)
Someone is going to get original art for Christmas! So excited to be sending this lovely Washington Monument painting out to Haymarket, Virginia. I hope his wife loves it:) I have free shipping through Dec 17th! Look for my end of the year sale to clear out 2017 inventory.
Clouds Over the Marsh - 12 x 12 on canvas board. Another lovely marsh painting heading to South Carolina. This lady bought this one and the next one that I'm posting. She lives in the Charleston suburbs. She was thrilled to get two paintings 25% off!
I'm running a sale in my Etsy store this week for Veteran's Day. 20% off all paintings over $50! I was contacted by a repeat buyer who lives in the DC area and she bought this one today for herself. She's bought paintings before as wedding gifts. The holiday season is almost upon us. Think of giving original art or a lovely print or giclee. Everyone can use art in their homes.
I received an email from a new client last week inquiring about a Washington D.C. painting. He and his wife used to live here and have moved to Florida. They wanted a memento to remind them of their years here. I asked how he found me and was excited to find out that they googled Washington D.C. paintings and some of mine came up! So I am getting out there - finally! I sent them photos today and they absolutely loved it. It's so nice when the client is happy and I don't have to make any changes. It will be on it's way to West Palm Beach in the morning.
I've created a new section in my Etsy store; paintings under $50!!!!!! I created it with the idea to make art more affordable. The gift giving season is almost upon us. Do your holiday shopping early and give the gift of original art. Another affordable gift is a print or Giclee of one of my paintings. We all know how hard it is to find the perfect gift so all of my artwork is refundable within 7 days of purchase or they may exchange it for a different painting with the price difference either refunded or added to depending on whether the painting is more or less than the original purchase.
I've been having pretty good luck with my Etsy store but I've decided to revisit selling paintings and prints again on Amazon in their Handmade section as I've been reading that Amazon is making a push for handmade items again. They have expanded into more countries. So I've revamped my store there, signed up for some ad campaigns, and put some new listings up! We'll see if I get any traffic. Hoping holiday shoppers will start soon. Here is the link if you want to check it out!
https://www.amazon.com/handmade/Rebecca-Croft-Studios?ref=hnd_dp_smp One of my favorite places in the world is Charleston, South Carolina. I am happiest at the beach and Charleston has it all! Beaches, marshes, an active city life, the arts, and great restaurants. I hope to move there one day. In the meantime I fantasize about living there by painting it! My favorite areas are the marshes. I don't know why but looking at the calm water and lovely grasses are just gorgeous to me. Even better is when the sky is doing something neat like lots of moving clouds or sunrises or sunsets with lots of vivid color. I will never tire of painting that area and others must agree because I've sold more marsh paintings than any other subject. So I'll keep painting them!
A few years ago I was able to go on a vacation for a week to Bald Head Island North Carolina. It was a magical place. You had a to take a ferry to get there and no cars are allowed. You get everywhere on foot or by golf cart or bicycle. Not a very big island but oh so pretty. One of the landmarks is "Old Baldy" the lighthouse there. I have painted "Old Baldy" several times in different lights with different backgrounds and they have all sold out! I must not be the only one with fond memories of this special place. This gem will be available in my Etsy store soon!
